Our commitment
to Net Zero

What we do...and what we expect of our associates
Penny Works Limited is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its activities and supporting the UK’s transition towards net zero.
As a small, director-led professional services business with no employees and no manufacturing operations, the company’s direct environmental impact is relatively limited. Nevertheless, Penny Works seeks to embed sustainable practices into its day-to-day operations and the delivery of its services.
Sustainability expectations are included within Penny Works Limited’s Associate Agreement. Associates are expected to support the company’s environmental objectives by minimising unnecessary travel, reducing waste, using digital processes and considering the environmental impact of their work.
Penny Works Limited recognises that its approach will need to develop as the organisation grows and commits to reviewing its environmental practices, measuring its impact where proportionate and identifying further practical actions that contribute towards net zero.
The company’s current commitments include:
-
delivering services remotely or digitally where practical to reduce unnecessary travel
-
using online meetings, digital documentation and electronic contracting wherever appropriate
-
avoiding unnecessary printing and reducing paper consumption
-
selecting lower-carbon travel options where travel is required
-
using public transport where reasonably practical
-
reducing waste and using resources efficiently
-
considering environmental performance when selecting suppliers and subcontractors
-
encouraging associates and subcontractors to support sustainable working practices
-
complying with applicable environmental legislation and client sustainability requirements; and
-
reviewing opportunities to further reduce the company’s carbon footprint as the business grows.
